WHAT IS
JUNETEETH?
Our Story
Juneteenth commemorates the day the last enslaved African Americans in the United States were finally informed of their freedom, marking a powerful moment of liberation, truth, and long-awaited justice.
But Juneteenth is more than a historical date. It is a living celebration of freedom, resilience, and the strength of a people who have continued to rise, create, and lead through generations of struggle and triumph. It is a reminder of how far we have come and how much further we are still called to go.
Our story is rooted in community, culture, and connection. We celebrate Black excellence through music, art, food, and storytelling that honors history and uplifts present voices.
Juneteenth is where joy and reflection meet. It’s about honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a future grounded in unity, respect, and freedom for all. This celebration is for everyone—an invitation to learn, grow, and stand together.
